IYCN - International Younger Chemists Network

During the 250th American Chemical Society national meeting & exposition (Boston, Ma, August 16 - 20, 2015), a task force for the creation of the International Younger Chemists Network (IYCN) was initiated and I was the representative of the Latin American countries. The objective was to create an association comprising younger chemists' researchers from all continents. In July 2017, the IYCN was officially incorporated by IUPAC during the 46th World Chemistry Congress (São Paulo/SP, Brazil). I had the opportunity to organize the launching symposium and kept involved in the IYCN activities from 2015 to 2018.

JP-SBQ - Brazilian Young Researchers Committee

The joining of younger researchers in scientific societies, networking, leadership, and representation activities is a valuable factor for career development and for the progress of science. In September 2018, the community of younger researchers of the Brazilian Chemical Society had its structuring process started by me and by a colleague, Dr. Marilia Valli, with the support of the president of the Brazilian Chemical Society. In May 2019, the inaugural workshop organized by the committee was finally held, during the 42nd RASBQ (Joinville/SC, Brazil). Since then, JP-SBQ has grown and has been actively working on its regulatory structure, representation in various scientific activities, organization of actions and meetings, as well as in networking and social communication activities, among many other related activities.

2015 - SciFinder Future Leaders in Chemistry

In 2015, nearly at the end of my doctorate graduation, I was awarded the SciFinder Future Leaders in Chemistry by the American Chemical Society. The CAS Future Leaders program awards early-career scientists with leadership training and a trip to the ACS National Meeting & Exposition, one of the most respected scientific meetings in the world. Since then, I have been actively working on volunteering activities together with national and international chemical societies.

2022 - BRAGFOST

In 2022, I was one of the 30 Brazilians invited to participate in the 12th Brazilian German Frontiers of Science and Technology Symposium - Bragfost, a bilateral event sponsored by the Alexander Von Humboldt Foundation and CAPES. On the occasion, I co-chaired one of the 4 sections of the event, "Bioactives and Resources from Remote and Endangered Natural Environments".The opportunity is still fructifying with new collaborations and is definitely helping to shape the next steps of my career.

Apoena Network

Apoena is the Network of Brazilian researchers in Germany. The organization aims to connect researchers from different fields of knowledge to boost Brazil-Germany collaboration. Apoena wants to welcome Brazilian researchers in Germany, in a network that also values the emotional side. We believe in the synergy power of diversity in the collaboration between institutions, areas of knowledge, and people, as well as in the progress of scientific knowledge through the cooperation between the two countries. I am an Apoena Member since 2020, contributing to the network activities and also with the Brazilian Embassy in Berlin.
